FAYETTEVILLE — James Kenneth "Ken" Heathcock Sr., age 82, of Fayetteville passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2014. He was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Hardin County, Tenn., to James and Lucille Berlin Heathcock. He was a Baptist, an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, playing golf and bowling. He taught machine shop at West Campus Technical School in Fayetteville for a brief period and also operated the machine shop for Tyson Foods.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Margaret Kelley Heathcock; one daughter, Karen Robbins of Fayetteville; his son, James "Chip" Heathcock Jr. of Las Cruces, N.M.; stepson, Jay D. Shackelford of Farmington, Ark.; five grandchildren, Tony Heathcock, Wendy Clanton, Mariah Robbins, Coltan Shackelford, Sara Shackelford and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moore's Chapel with burial to follow at Baptist Ford Cemetery in Greenland, Ark.
