Charles Eli Caudle, 75, died last night in a local hospital. He was born at Winslow, March 10, 1889 and had made his home in Greenland for the past 15 years. He was the son of John and Sarah Winn Caudle and was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include the widow, Dessie of the home; four sons, Sherman, of West Fork, Ralph and Ed both of Winslow and Delford of Greenland; eight daughters, Mrs. Thelma Smith, Mrs. Gladys Davis, Mrs. Ruby Center, Mrs. Edith Tomlinson all of Greenland, Mrs. Mildred Preston of Elkins, Mrs. Betty Carson, Mrs. Imogene Parrish and Mrs. Lois Carson, all of Watsonville, Calif.; three brothers; four sisters; 59 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2, p.m. Wednesday at Baptist Ford. Burial in Baptist Ford Cemetery under direction of Moore's Chapel.

Greenland Woman Dies, Leaving 126 Descendants

Mrs. Dessie Southern Caudle, 77, of Greenland, died Saturday in a Fayetteville hospital. Born Sept. 8, 1894 at Winslow, the daughter of William S. and Ida Moore Southern, she was a Baptist.

Survivors are four sons, Sherman and Delford of West Fork and Edward and Ralph of Winslow; seven daughters, Mrs. Thelma Smith, Mrs. Gladys Davis, Mrs. Ruby Center and Mrs. Edith Tomlinson of Greenland, Mrs. Mildred Preston of Wetumka, Okla., Mrs. Betty Carson of Watsonville, Calif. and Mrs. Lois Carson of Capitola, Calif.; two brothers, Dewey Southern of Fayetteville and Claude Southern of Greenland; five sisters, Mrs. Susie Loftin and Mrs. Ora Smith of Fayetteville, Mrs. Flora Martin of Window, Mrs. Atha Harrison of Fort Smith and Mrs. Fanny West of Washington, D.C.; 61 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will he at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Baptist Ford Church with burial in Baptist Ford Cemetery under direction of Moore's Chapel. The body will lie in state from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the church.

A memorial fund has been established with the Women's Missionary Union of the First Baptist Church of Greenland.
