Glen R. Courtney, 84, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Newkirk, Okla., to Harry Hiland and Allie Carter Courtney. He was preceded in death by one son, David Lynn Courtney and one daughter, Cheryl Ann Courtney.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and World War II. He was a member of Hyland Park Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nettie Unger Courtney; two sons, Gerald Courtney and wife Deonn of Greenland and Ronald Courtney of Fayetteville; two sisters, Barbara Doss of McGehee and Betty Davis and husband Jimmy of Pine Bluff; one brother, Jack Courtney of Lake Village; 10 grandchildren, Brent Courtney, Ashley Courtney Hulse, Matthew Courtney, Cheri Kimbel, Melanie Dorman Bedogne, Kristina Courtney Amaya, Katrina Courtney Carter, Hunter Courtney, Shelby Courtney and Kelly Rideout; 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, online at www.mooresfuneralchapel.com. The Rev. R. Dean Jones will officiate.

Burial will be in Baptist Ford Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Moore's.
