FAYETTEVILLE — Wanda Lee Easterling, 86, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born Oct. 8, 1922, in Greenland, the daughter of Charles Laten and Dora Lee Webb.
She was a graduate of Greenland High School, Class of 1940, and attended Fayetteville Business College. She was a charter member of Family Worship Center (now Gateway Church) where she served as secretary and Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a housewife, loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 64 years, Kenneth Easterling.
She is survived by her son, Chuck and his wife Beth of Rogers; her daughter, Candace and her husband Monty of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Chase and Lisa Easterling, Tyler and Peyton Nance; one great-grandson, Cory; her sister, Irene Powell of Lawton, Okla.; and a niece, Rosalea Peebles of Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Gateway Church, 518 N. Cato Springs Road west of Greenland with Pastors Kin Maddox and Tony Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in Baptist Ford Cemetery just south of Greenland.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 13 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, 4520 N. Crossover Road, Fayetteville, online at www.nelsonberna.com.
