Charlie Matthew Russell

Funeral services for Charlie Matthew Russell, 72, a resident of Rainbow Drive in Green Forest, AR were held on Monday at the Green Forest Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Billy Burris, the Rev. M.J. Harris and the Rev. Hugh Still officiating. Interment was in the Hale Cemetery under the direction of the Nelson Funeral Service.

Charlie Matthew Russell was born June 29, 1909 at Osage, AR, a son of Will V. and Melley (Morris) Russell. He departed this life on November 5, at his home.

He was a retired Assembly of God minister and he attended the Green Forest Assembly of God Church. As a minister for 37 years he pastured churches in Berryville, Huntsville, Oak Grove, Osage and Cedar Valley in Arkansas He also held pastorates in Wendall, ID and Kaw City, OK.

He was united in marriage with Goldie Ellen Yeary on September 9, 1931, and four children were born to this union. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Carl Russell. Survivors include his wife, Goldie of the home; two sons, Blane Cecil Russell of Boise, ID, and Darrell Calvin Russell, of Highlandville, MO; one daughter, Gail Charlene Harrison of Batesville, AR; one brother, Winston Vance Russell of Colorado; three sisters, Ethel Russell of Ceres, CA, Myrtle Fultz of King City, CA, and Delmonia Allred of Salinas, CA; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several other relatives and many friends
