FAYETTEVILLE — Brian Edward Laney, 50, of Fayetteville died Jan. 13, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 4, 1958, in Lubbock, Texas, the son of Fred G. and Joyce Kaye McLoud Laney. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley Dawn Laney, in 1992.

He was a self-employed subcontractor and member of New Bethel Assembly of God Church in Dyer.

He is survived by his wife, Gaena "Maria" Laney; four children, Violet Ledger L'avenir Laney, Kindle Kiera, Collin Keaton and Lilyan Grace Woody; a brother, David Laney of Broken Arrow, Okla.; three sisters, Pam VanMeter of Tulsa, Okla., Vicki Kieffer of Fayetteville and Lisa Meason of El Dorado; five nieces, Shannon and Amanda Laney, Robin VanMeter, Crystal Keiffer and Molly Muren.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, online guestbook www.mooresfuneralchapel.com.

Dave Tackett will officiate.

Burial will be in Baptist Ford Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials the family requests memorials be made to Brian Laney Memorial Fund, c/o Arvest Bank, P.O. Box 1327, Fayetteville, 72702.
