SPRINGDALE — Loyd Lincoln Florer, 92, of Springdale, Ark., died Jan. 10, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale. Born Jan. 27, 1919, in Terlton, Okla., he was the son of Albert L. Florer and Beulah Mae Hewitt Florer.
He lived most of his life in Maysville, Ark., where he was a farmer. Loyd served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was in the Pacific aboard the USS Nashville and USS Bushnell. He was on the USS Nashville, which was an escort for the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo.
He was a member of the VFW and a deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church, where he was also a Sunday school teacher and sang specials. He married Faye January on Feb. 24, 1942, in Siloam Springs, Ark.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Faye of the home; three sons, Arthur Florer and wife, Ruth Ann, of Springdale, Ark., Dennis Florer and wife, Elizabeth Ann, of Bentonville, Ark., and Wayne Florer and wife, Kathryn Ann, of Maysville, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Florer and wife, Margie, of Boulder, Colo.; two sisters, Crystal Rae Haley of Siloam Springs and her husband George of Gravette, Ark., and Alberta Walls of Santa Maria, Calif.
Pallbearers will be Paul Bowles, David Holcombe, Kent Vise, Bob Easter, Larry Eaton and Gary Lucas.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Maysville, Ark., with the Rev. Jim Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, Ark.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Jan. 13, 2012, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.

Faye Asilene Florer, 95 year old resident of Springdale, Arkansas, died January 4, 2015 in Springdale, Arkansas. Born June 27, 1919 in Delaware County, she was the daughter of Henry January and Vina Potter. Faye married Loyd Lincoln Florer on February 24, 1942 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She was a longtime resident of Maysville, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loyd; three brothers, Roy, Johnny, and Ray January; and one sister, Velma Linn.
She is survived by three sons, Arthur Florer and wife Ruth Ann of Springdale, Arkansas, Dennis Florer and wife Elizabeth Ann of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Wayne Florer and wife Kathryn Ann of Maysville, Arkansas; four sisters, Tressie Linn of Colcord, Oklahoma, Dessie Johnson of Colusa, California, Pearl Hollenback of West Siloam, Oklahoma and Mildred Hollenback of Campo, Colorado; eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday January 7, 2015 at Immanuel Baptist, Maysville, Arkansas with Pastor Jim Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, Arkansas.
