Mrs. Janie Whiteley, 83, a resident of Greenland died in a local rest home Monday. She was born Jan. 3, 1881 in Roby, Tex. the daughter of Fernie and Mary Francis Riggs Hickman and was married in 1899 to Jake Whiteley. She was a member of the People's Church. Survivors include two sons, Alfred of Durham and Homer of Fayetteville; two daughters, Mrs. Mattie Musick of Fort Worth, Tex. and Mrs. Bertie Lee Jones of Brownwood, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Neppie Clark of Tuscon, Ariz.; one brother, Leonard Hickman of Florida, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Nelson's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Baptist Ford Cemetery.
