James the son of Joseph Ruben and Dorothy (Banks) Conatser. JoAnn the daughter of Dene and Anna Ruth (Mullen) West.



JoAnn Conatser, 75, of Trumann, died Feb. 2, 2012, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born Sept. 2, 1936, in Strawberry, she was a schoolteacher for the Bay, Scranton and Hazen school districts, and was also a home health worker. She lived most of her life in the Trumann area, where she was on the Board of Directors of the Lion's Club and Eastern Star. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Trumann, where she was active in the Awana and Wings programs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Russell Conatser; a son, John Randall Conatser; her parents, Dene and Ruth Mullen West; and a brother, Gary West.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Allen Conatser, Trumann, and Brian Keith Conatser, Russellville; three daughters, Cynthia Gail Barber and husband Kirk, Radcliff, Ky., DeAnna Marie Harrison and husband Jason, Spain, and Jamie Ruth Neal and husband Derek, Topeka, Kan.; two brothers, Danny West and wife Debbie, Okmulgee, Okla., and David West, Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Helen Lackey and husband Lloyd, Batesville, and Patty Huskey, Saffell; a sister-in-law, Linda West, Strawberry; and five grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Trumann with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial was in Milligan Campground Cemetery at Strawberry under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.

Honorary pallbearers were members of First Baptist Church and the Lion's Club of Trumann.
