BUGSCUFFLE — Clarence Ray Genz, 77, a resident of Bugscuffle, passed away April 30, 2012, at his home in
Bugscuffle. He was born Jan. 24, 1935, in Gresham, Neb., the son of Homer Ray and Florence Dickey Genz.

Clarence was born and lived in Gresham, Neb., until 1951. He moved to the Front Range of Colorado and graduated from Windsor High School in 1952. A dairy farmer for 19 years in the areas of Severance and Pierce, Colo., Clarence retired and moved his family to the beautiful hills of Bugscuffle, Ark., in 1979. Clarence was employed by the Standard Register Co. for 19 years while he and his family farmed, raising cattle and horses. During that time, Clarence became involved with the Miniature Horse Club of Northwest Arkansas, showing horses in the four-state area. Clarence competed nationally with his National Grand Champion horse Midnight. Together they won many championships, earning an induction into the Miniature Horse National Hall of Fame. Midnight has since retired, and still remains a trademark of the C&I Mini Ranch. Clarence was a proud supporter of the West Fork Band and Athletics. An athlete himself, Clarence left a legacy of talented children and grandchildren who have walked the halls of West Fork High School.

Clarence served in the U.S. Army 3rd Missile, 32nd Artillery from 1958-1964 at Fort Sill, Okla., and was a member of the West Fork Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Iris Jean Genz; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald Ray and Sandra Genz and Jerry Allen and Teresa Genz, all of West Fork; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Jean and Larry Medart of West Fork and Cheryl Mae and Shannon Miller of Winslow; one brother, Melvin Dale Genz and his wife, Gerri, of Severance, Colo.; one sister, Bonnie Kaluna and her husband, Hub, of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Brad Genz, Jarod Medart, Justin Medart, Cody Caudle, Taylor Genz, Cassy Genz, Logan Gent and Kyleigh Cook; two great-grandchildren, Dakota Genz and Karder Caudle; seven step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
