SPRINGDALE — Napoleon Clements Orr, age 94, of Springdale, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born May 7, 1919, in Lockesburg, Ark., to James Sidney and Virgie Clements Orr.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Edith, Ethel and Lola; and brothers, Connie and Thomas Vernon.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Wanda; daughter, Kaye and husband, David, of Springdale, Ark.; and son, Gary and wife, Betsy, of Rogers, Ark.; brother, Edgar Junior Orr of Minneapolis, Minn,; grandsons, Dustin Walters, Brandon Walters and wife, Evgeniya Bobitova, Brent Orr and wife, Jessica, and Shane Orr and wife, Jess; great-grandchildren, Carson and Alyssa Walters, Alexey Bobkov, Anna Claire, Bennett and Sutton Orr. He is also survived by many lovingcousins, nieces and nephews.

Napoleon farmed for several years before going to work for Brown's Hatchery in De Queen, Ark., in 1943. He worked there until 1960 when he moved to Springdale, where he worked for the Jeff Brown Company until 1969. At that time, the business was sold to Wilson Company; therefore, Napoleon worked for Wilson's until 1978.

In 1978, Wilson's was bought by Tyson, where Napoleon worked until his retirement in 1984. For several years before his retirement, he had served in the position of serviceman in the breeder hen department. He worked 41 years in the poultry business.

Napoleon was ordained as a deacon in 1952 at the Memorial Baptist Church in De Queen. Throughout the years, he has served as church treasurer, and has taught Sunday school classes for men and boys in different age groups.

Napoleon loved to build wooden toys and furniture for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He has built grandfather clocks, furniture, and would always spend many hours in his workshop woodworking for his any friends and family. He was loved by all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who called him Papaw.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today, Nov. 14, 2013, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale.

Graveside services will be held at Bluff Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may he sent to Meals on Wheels, Senior Center, 203 Park St., Springdale, AR 72764.
