SPRINGDALE — Forest Dale "Butch" Irven, 67, of Springdale died June 19, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 25, 1946, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Albert Earl and Stella Marie Niles Irven.

He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1963 to 1969. He had lived in Arkansas since 1975. Butch did construction work and farming work for 43 years. Butch was a very giving, dependable, loving man to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all whose life he touched. He will always be in our hearts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, music and driving grandchildren around on his tractor.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Irven.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Joyce Yingst Irven, whom he married July 12, 1985; and his faithful dog, Penny; three daughters, Brandy Vig and husband, Avleen, of Pea Ridge, Corena Smith of Springdale, and Stephanie Pierson and husband, Kevin, of Fayetteville; one son, Anthony Smith of Springdale; one brother, Mike Irven and wife, Patty, of Tontitown; and one sister, Cheryl Hadeen and husband, Norm, of Aurora, Colo.; his uncle, Gail Niles and wife, Shirley, and aunt, Bert Niles, all of Iowa; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Bluff Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Washington Regional Hospice, 34 Colt Square, Fayetteville, AR 72703.
