Lawrence Augustus (L J) Crossno Jr. of Roland left this life for a better one Monday, Oct. 6, 2008. L.J. was born Nov. 28, 1933, in Paris to his parents, Lawrence Augustus Crossno Sr. and Truie Pearl (Harger) Crossno, who preceded him in death.

After working in California for several years, he returned to Arkansas and went to work with Gerber Baby Food when the plant opened in Fort Smith. He remained with the company and retired from Gerber after 30 years.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, two sons, Cecil Wayne Crossno and wife Susan of Van Buren and Herbert Lawrence Crossno of Van Buren; and a daughter, Dixie Marie Boster and her husband, Donald of Alma. His companion Janice Fry of Roland; his brother, Cecil C. Cooper and wife, Virginia of Greenwood; a sister, Dorothy Savage of Branch; and Bessie Wood, mother of his children.

Grandchildren: Robbin Stanley, Michael Stanley, Cassie Nelson, Lawrence Wayne Crossno, Jessica Hadlock, Andrea Lingo, Christopher Crossno, Westley Wagner, Allissa Crossno.

Great-grandchildren: Elijah Crossno, Shade Nelson, Nathan Lingo, Shayla Crossno, Kayleigh Lingo, Aden Hadlock and Maleah Lingo; numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Lawrence Wayne Crossno, Christopher Nolan Crossno, Philip Savage, Harold McLeroy, Michael Stanley, Richard Savage.

Honorary pallbearers: Cecil Cooper, Roy Bohannon, Bruce Crossno.
