Ferd the son of Jesse and Florence D. Grissom. Alene the daughter of Robert Joseph Terry and Cornelia (Sides) Terry.
Alene H. Grissom, 97, of Hoxie, died Feb. 9, 2014, at her home.
Born Oct. 27, 1916, at Saffell, she was the daughter of Robert and Delia Sides Terry. She was a store clerk and a member of the Hoxie United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferd Grissom, on March 6, 1996, whom she married Sept. 28, 1935; a daughter, Linda Ruth Grissom; five sisters, Verlon Foster, Marie McCampbell, Mary Horned, Bobby Lee Brooks and Nova Gumm; and a grandson, Jerry Mark Warner.
Survivors include a great-grandson, Jerry Allen Warner, Houston; two great-great-grandsons, Skyler Warner and Jayden Warner; nieces and nephews, Barbara McCampbell Dietrich and Terry McCampbell, both of Whitehall, Charles Horned, Conway, Billy Gumm, Phoenix, Robert Gumm, DeQueen, Delia Haak, Gentry, David Horned, Little Rock, Nancy Camarillo, Jonesboro, Edwin Grissom, Walnut Ridge, Ernestine Crackel, Poplar Bluff, Mo., Barbara Richards, Wentzville, Mo., and Sara Grissom Gilliam, Hoxie; a sister-in-law, Etherine Grissom, Walnut Ridge; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral was Saturday at 10 a.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Rev. Bonda Moyer officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were David Foley, John Holt, Jim Green, Leonard Doan, George Bruton and Zach Mullen.
