Siloam Springs — Elmer R. Burden, 57, of the Cincinnati community died at his home Saturday evening. Born Jan, 14, 1916 in Oklahoma, he was a retired employe of Allen Industries of Siloam Springs and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Beatrice Ivey Burden of the home; a foster son, Cfifford Reynolds of Summers; two daughters, Mrs. Norma Lee Mitchell and Mrs. Ina Marie McGarrah, both of Summers; three brothers, Robert and Harley, both of Siloam Springs, and Charles of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Opal Shields of Gentry and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were scheduled this afternoon in the chapel of Wasson Funeral Home with burial in Fairmont Cemetery.

SUMMERS — Beatrice Burden, 78, of Summers died May 3, 2000, at her home. She was born Aug. 11, 1921, in Gracen County, Texas, to Joe T. and Stella Pearl Cary Ivey. She was a former employee of Franklin Electric and Allen Canning Co. in Siloam Springs and was a life resident of Siloam Springs. She was a member of Eastgate Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Burden, in 1973.

Survivors include two daughters, Norma Mitchell of Summers and Ina McGarrah of Suzhou, China; one son, Clifford Reynolds of Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs with Charles Cash officiating.

Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
