Jessie Alma Carroll
Jessie Alma Carroll, 93, of Lake Charles, La., formerly of Hoxie, died Jan. 31, 2009, at Lake Charles Care Center in Louisiana.
Born Nov. 15, 1915, in Black Rock, she was the daughter of Morton and Nellie Mae Kidder Woodson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie "Jack" Carroll, on Nov. 9, 1995, whom she married Sept. 2, 1941; a son, Glen Carroll; four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Sabra Jackson, Lake Charles, La.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Monday at 10 a.m. in the Bryan Chapel with Herbert Knight officiating. Burial was in Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Clyde Woodson, Harmon Dotson, Don Truitt, Bobby Vance, Paul David Ragsdale and Ronnie Woodson.
