LINCOLN — Jesse Homer Copeland, 89, of Lincoln died July 29, 2008, at his home. He was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Orr, Okla., to James Lee and Jennie Dickey Copeland.
He was a member of New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church. He was a Scoutmaster for Troop 315 in Cement, Okla., for seven years and was head of construction for more than 18 years with Stanley-Barber Co. in Fort Smith, before retiring to become a farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Audra Fay Perkins Copeland; four sons, James Copeland of Muldrow, Okla., Kenneth Copeland of Broken Arrow, Okla., Greg Copeland of Prairie Grove and Jack Copeland of Moultrie, Ga.; two daughters, Darlene Copeland of Lincoln and Patricia Tilson of Bakersfield, Mo.; a sister, Christine Norton of Hugoton, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m., today at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, online at www.luginbuel.com.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church with Glen Faulkner and Paul Woodhouse officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brad Copeland, Greg Tilson, Casey Copeland, Shane Copeland, John Copeland and Alex Copeland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Piearcy, Eugene Piearcy, Sam Sorlsen and Les Jones.

PRAIRIE GROVE - Audra Fay Copeland, 90, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away February 19, 2015 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. She was born November 1, 1924 in Alvord, Texas, the daughter of Harley and Ada Sanders Perkins. She was a member of the New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church in Prairie Grove. She was a homemaker and farmer and loved to garden and was a wonderful grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Copeland and one brother, Jake Perkins. Survivors include four sons, James Copeland and wife Bobbie of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Kenneth Copeland and wife Martha of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Greg Copeland and wife Beverly of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; Jack Copeland and wife Michelle of Georgia; two daughters, Darlene Copeland of Prairie Grove and Pat Tilson and husband Gary of Missouri; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her granddaughter, Brenda Piearcy for taking such good care of her in her last few months.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 - 10 a.m. at New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery, there will be no graveside service held at the cemetery. Online guest book, www.luginbuel.com.
