Doyle Jackson Banks, son of the late Andrew Jefferson Banks and Maudie Hulsey Banks, was born July 28, 1939. He departed this life January 22, 2013 at his home in Mountain View, Arkansas at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 25 days. He was united in marriage to Lenora Johnson on December 3, 1983 in Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas. He spent his life as a son, brother, nephew, uncle, father, grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he was employed by Unimin as a sand blaster on the mining crew, retiring in 2001. He loved hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, attending church and spending time with his family. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of Souls Harbor River of Life Church in Mountain View.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years: Lenora Johnson Banks of the home; two daughters: Jacqueline Haley Banks of the home and Lavonda Gail White of Mountain View; four sons: Doyle Jason Banks and wife Conee of Conway, Arkansas, Doyle Jacob Banks and wife Connie of Conway, Arkansas, Andrew Joseph Banks of Conway and Jesse Daniel White of the home; and one that was not his son but who he loved as if her were: William Douglas Roberts; one granddaughter: Anna Juliet Banks of Conway; two grandsons: John Austin Banks and Jackson Lane Banks both of Conway; two sisters: Vida Tate of Melbourne and Bonnie Loading of Independence, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Andrew and Maudie Banks, one sister: Lola Edington; five brothers: Sherman Banks, Herb Banks, Herery Banks, Barney Banks and Bill Banks and one great nephew: Rodney Neil Spence.
Funeral service will be Thursday, January 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with BrotherTim Clark officiating. Burial will be at Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 23 from 6-8 p.m.
