Roger Leon Campbell, 72, of Mount Pleasant died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at White River Medical Center.
Born on March 30, 1941 at LaGrange, Missouri, he was the son of Clarence Leon and Cleota Mae (Downs) Campbell. He was a flooring contractor and a member of the Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Rog could build anything and was always building things for his children. He loved to fish, being on his tractor and lawn mower, and ride around his farm on his MTV. Being a big kid himself, he loved to tease and tell tall stories. He was always happy and fun to be with. His family was the most important thing in his life he loved being a dad and pawpaw.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Betty (Ferguson) Campbell; sons, Russell Evans and his wife, Stephanie of Mount Pleasant, AR and Elliott Sampley of Bossier City, LA; a daughter, Amy Campbell of Tulsa, OK; nine grandchildren, Josh Howard, Tylor Hill, Trey Hill, Michael Evans, Jesse Sampley, Austin Roth, Caleb Roth, Jacob Sampley and Carter Roth; four great-grandchildren, Blake Howard, Isabella Howard, Kyson Evans, and Celeste Hill; and his nieces and nephews, Phil Ferguson, Amanda McTigue, Kim Kobett, and Crystal Cossey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Richard Campbell.
Pallbearers will be Russell Evans, Elliott Sampley, Phil Ferguson, Brian McTigue, Casey Hightower, and Paul Black.
Honorary pallbearers are Josh Howard, Tylor Hill, Trey Hill, Michael Evans, Jesse Sampley, Austin Roth, Caleb Roth, Jacob Sampley, Blake Howard, Carter Roth, and Kyson Evans.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. Billy Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at Reeves Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
