Mary Zelle Burkett, 84, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 15, 2010. She was born in Dover, Arkansas to the late Jim and Rea Butler. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Bob Butler. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Little Rock. Mrs. Burkett loved caring for flowers, her beautiful yard, and the lake house on Lake Hamilton. She was a loving, wonderful wife and homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, John Elton Burkett of Little Rock; one daughter, Patricia Ann Simpson of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Amanda DeBose and Angela Hudson; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Harris and Justin Hudson, all of Mobile, Alabama.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 18, 2010 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel (501)224-8300 with Dr. Jim LaGrone and Dr. Jonathan Curtis officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Thorn Cemetery in Greenbrier.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
