Ethel Mae Burkett, 101, of Greenbrier passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2011.
Born in Greenbrier on Jan. 7, 1910, she was a daughter to the late J. Gould and Ollie (Nash) Mobbs.
Mrs. Burkett was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a member of the Greenbrier Church of Christ. She owned and operated Ethel’s Dress Shoppe in Greenbrier for 14 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clarence Burkett; sons, Jerry J. Burkett and Vance Weldon Burkett, daughter-in-law, Mary Z. Burkett; son-in-law, William C. Burnett; three sisters; four brothers; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.
Survivors include her sons, John Eldon Burkett of Little Rock and James C. Burkett and wife Patsy of Greenbrier; daughter Jimmie L. Burnett of Sherwood; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa Lee DeWald of San Jose, Calif., and Wanda Lee Robinson of Amarillo, Texas; and numerous family members and friends.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier with interment to follow at Thorn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
