Don Wilson
Don Wilson, 74, of Fifty Six, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas.
Don was born on September 11, 1940, in Mountain View, Arkansas to the late Oscar and Nancy (Jannie) Pitts Wilson. Don was a Christian man owned a barber shop and worked as a barber for 36 years. Don loved his family and friends more than anything. Don loved hunting and fishing and especially riding his 4-wheeler and his 4-wheel drive “truck” which he used to park and set in to deer hunt. He always said his deer stand cost $20,000.00. Don and Betty spent many enjoyable hours riding in the country enjoying the world of nature, especially the wildlife sightings. They rode everyday enjoying each other, each minute.
Don is survived by one sister, Martha Isabelle Sweat of Fifty Six, Arkansas; the love of his life, Betty Rose; nieces and nephews, Steve and wife Phyllis Wilson of Mountain View, Arkansas, Leslee Franks and wife Brenda of Harrison, Arkansas, and Jim Sweat of Fifty Six, Arkansas, Linda Sweat of Fifty Six, Arkansas, and Leann Waddell and husband Bill of Fifty Six, Arkansas; along with the Rose family and many other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Nancy (Jannie) Pitts Wilson; two sisters, Renda May Widebrook and Ruby Franks; one nephew and sidekick, Jeremy Sweat.
A visitation will take place on Friday, January 16, 2015, from 1-2PM at Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. The funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00PM also at Roller Crouch Chapel with Brother Daryl Pitts officiating. Interment will take place at Fifty Six Cemetery in Fifty Six, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Cartwright, Tommy Cleveland, Benny Rose, Edward Rose, and Van Rosa and wife Sharon Rosa.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, PO Box 2222, Little Rock, Arkansas 72203.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home, Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
