O.B. "Bud " McClendon, 74, of Russellville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2009, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. Born January 16, 1935, in O'Donnell, Texas, he was the son of the late O.L. and Ruth Smith McClendon. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Faye McClendon, brother, Wendell McClendon and granddaughter, Ellie Moore. He worked for Globe Oil Company before moving to Atkins, owned and operated service stations in Atkins and Russellville for a number of years and was a truck driver. His last employment was as a bus driver for the Russellville School District. He was a member of the Russellville First Assembly of God Church..

He is survived by two sons, Carl D. and Kenny McClendon both of Atkins, 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Billy D. Gipson, Karen and Robby Sims and Kim and Matt Moore all of Russellville, grandchildren, Beth and Todd Willcut of Conway, Erik Gipson of Conway, Justin and Jamie McClendon of London, Evan and Seth Moore of Russellville, great grandchildren Karlee and Molly McClendon of London and Taylor Bess of Birdtown and a sister, Laverne Berger of Temple, TX.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Lemley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Moore and Rev. Ronnie Morris officiating. Burial will be in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.

Visitation will be 6:00-7:30 PM Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Erik Gipson, Justin McClendon, Todd Willcut, Charles Smith and David Carpenter.
Honorary Pallbearers are Russellville School District Transportation and Bus Shop Employees.

Ida Faye McClendon, 69, of Russellville, died Sunday, November 30, 2008 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Born August 15, 1939, in Lepanto, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Hairl G. and Nannie E. Doshier Hames. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Hames and Billy Hames, and a granddaughter, Ellie Moore. She was a member of the Russellville First Assembly of God Church, worked for several years at Swain's Tax Service in Atkins, and retired from Regions Bank.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, O. B. "Bud" McClendon, of Russellville; two sons, Carl D. McClendon and Kenny McClendon, both of Atkins; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Billy D. Gipson, Karen and Robby Sims, Kim and Matt Moore, all of Russellville; grandchildren, Beth and Todd Willcut of Conway, Erik Gipson of Russellville, Justin and Jamie McClendon of London, Evan and Seth Moore of Russellville, Taylor Bess of Bird Town; and great-grandchildren, Karlee and Molly McClendon.
