PEA RIDGE — Faye Marie (Akers) Rippee was born to James Evan Coatney and Faye Presser, May 5, 1935, in the Willow Springs, Mo., area. She went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sept. 15, 2013, surrounded by her husband and her children.

Marie, as she was known to all who loved her, went to school in Cabool, Mo. Marie was saved and baptized in 1958; she stayed faithful to her Lord. She married Morris Lee Akers and to this union three children were born, Debi, Cathi and Marty.

Morris passed away from a massive heart attack on Feb. 27, 1983. After his death, Marie stayed in the Mountain Grove area.

She met Rex Rippee in 1986 and they were married Jan. 9, 1988. Rex was the love of her life. Rex and Marie were devoted to one another and they shared a special love.

Marie and Rex moved from the Hartville, Mo., area and made their home in Pea Ridge, Ark., in October 2005; this move allowed her and Rex to spend time with their family, which had been a dream of theirs for many years.

Her family was so important to her; she loved each one so much: she was so proud of her kids, her grandkids, great-grandkids and her great-great-grandkids. She was known as Granny Moo to her great-grandchildren. Marie was a very talented lady and was able to turn a house into a home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, a twin sister who died at birth, three brothers and one sister.

Marie is survived by her husband, Ronald Rex Rippee of the home in Pea Ridge; two daughters, Debi Guinn and her husband, Clarence, Cathi Wilkinson and her husband, Herman, and one son, Marty Akers and wife, Mary Ann, all of Rogers, Ark. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michael Millsap, Barry Guinn, Matthew Wilkinson, Tiffany Gulledge, Chelsie Wilkinson-Ryner, Karissa Judy and Benjamin Akers; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a sister, Linda Young and her husband, Ed, of Mountain Grove, Mo.; several nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will he 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge, with Pastor Randy James officiating. Interment will follow in the Buttram's Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St. in Rogers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
