Freddie James Pickney,Sr 93, of Black Rock passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at his home.
Born February 2, 1921 in Black Rock, son of William E and Allie Propst Pickney. He was united in marriage to Violet Viola Lawrence on May 21, 1947. He was a retired service station owner, Army Veteran, Mason, and of the Pentecostal faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; daughter, Sharon Berlecamp; grandson, Jerry Darris, Jr; seven brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Freddie Pickney Jr, Donald Sanders, and Bobby Joe Pickney all of Black Rock; two daughters, Diane Ragsdale and Jeanette Darris both of Black Rock; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Active pallbearers are, Chuck Ludwig, T.J. Ludwig, Gregg Hall, Dean Pickney, Scott Pickney, and Michael Sanders.
Honorary pallbearers are, Alan Smith, Hunter Smith, Alyson Smith, Brandi Ragsdale, Jennifer Pickney, Pam Smith, Anthony Ludwig, Jason Ludwig, Jaxon Pickney and Wayne Darris.
