Meirl Vada Walters, 80, of Mountain Home passed away June 11, 2015 in Mountain Home.
Meirl was born April 1, 1935 in Izard County to the late Raymond and Libby (Griggs) Simmons. She married Al Walters April 9, 1951 in Yellville. Meirl loved spending time outdoors gardening and helping others. She is preceded in death by her husband Al, one grandson, William Walters and her parents.
Meirl is survived by her five children, Diana (Noel) Morehead of Yellville, Bill (Pam) Walters of Mountain Home, Patty (Benny) Passmore of Mountain Home, Jimmy (Shelly) Walters of Claremore, Oklahoma and Missy (Greg) McGowen of Pineville; 14 grandchildren, Michael, Chad and Danny Morehead, Amanda Childress, Melissa Melton, Billie Browning, Aimee Pladson, Sarah Dickens, Shannon and Brandon Passmore, Sidney and Shelby Walters and Tasha and Duncan McGowen; 18 great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Pineville Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Pastor Noel Morehead and Brandon Passmore officiating. A visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will take place following the service at the Presbyterian Church Cemetery under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Meirl

[NOTE: The obituary lists her husband as Al Walters; however, his name was Archie Lee Walters.]
