Cecil Kastning, Jr.
of Yellville
Cecil H. Kastning, Jr. of Yellville, Arkansas died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at the Marion County Nursing Home in Yellville. He was 66 years old
Mr. Kastning was born January 20, 1938 at Flippin, Arkansas to Cecil H. and Opal M. Martn Kastning. On February 23, 1957, he married Kathryn McEntire. He was a retired building contractor.
Mr. Kastning was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church and the Sugarloaf Masonic Lodge in Heber Springs, AR.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn "Kat" Kastning of Yellville, AR; daughters, Cindy Lowery and Shelly Edkins and husband Doug all of Yellville, AR; his mother, Opal Banks of Springfield, MO and stepmother, Bessie Kastning of Yellville, AR; brothers, Wayne Kastning of Los Angeles, CA and Ronnie Banks of Springfield, MO; sister Sue Roods of Springfield, MO; and five grandchildren, Quinn and Katrina Lowery, Autumn and Summer Caudill and Veronica Edkins.
His daughter, Sherry Lynn Kastning, and father, Cecil, Sr., preceded him in death.
Visitation was held Tuesday, June 14, 2004 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home.
Funeral services where held Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church with Reverend Ron Robbins and Reverend Kent Goodall. Burial followed in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Tim Beaver, Shawn Beaver, Donald Mears, Ray Quall, Bruce Banks and Kevin Roods serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Cecil Mears, Louis Jones, Wayne Cagle, John A. Cagle, Harold Mears, Shorty Beaver, Dr. Robert Ahrens and Dr. Richard Ahrens.
Arrangements were under the direction of Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas (870) 449-6621,
