James Virgil Epling

James Virgil Epling, 91, of Yellville passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home.

Mr. Epling was born in Edmond, Oklahoma on January 28, 1920 to Howard Hampton and Zella Marie (Knight) Epling. He worked for American Airlines in Tulsa as a mechanic for many years. Later he worked in insurance sales for Farmers Insurance. He finished his working career as custodian for First Baptist Church in Yellville and doing handyman work. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita of Yellville; one son, James Carroll and wife, Lee, of Riverdale, Georgia; one daughter, Jane Nanney and husband, Jerry, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Patrice Kelleher, Jerry L. Nanney, Mia McBurnett, and Jeffry Carroll; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Francis Epling, two brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services for Mr. Epling will be Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rick Pyron officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Birrer, Phil Rook, Steve Johnson, Dan Duren, Charles Jefferson, and Carnes McCormack.

Honorary pallbearers will be his First Baptist Church Sunday school class.
