Clara Marcell (Tarkington) Jennings, 84, of Greenbrier, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday March 6, 2013. She was born March 13, 1928 in Guy, AR to the late James Charley and Laura Bell (Quattlebaum) Tarkington. Clara was also preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Festus Jennings, and one son, James Nathan Jennings.
She was a longtime member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Soda Valley, AR. Clara enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Marie (John) West, Donita Sue (Larry) Hartwick, one brother, Henry (Jesse) Tarkington, grandchildren, Shawn (David) Delk, Tina (Tim) Thompson, Jeffrey West, Tony (Tara) Hartwick, Chuckie Don (Stephanie) Hartwick, Miranda (Kevin)) Widener, Brant (Shannon) Jennings, and Lindsey (Jeff) Davis, great-grandchildren, Summer Clauer, Kasey Delk, Haley Delk, Dustin Hartwick, Allyson Hartwick, Jackson West, Carter West, Randi Hartwick, Rhett Hartwick, Hayes Hartwick, Harley Applewhite, Chase Applewhite, Weston Thompson, Zack Jennings, Zeb Widener, Zane Widener, Nathan Jennings, Ryin Richardson, Lakelynn Richardson, Ashton Davis, Amber Davis, and Dustin Davis, great-great grandson, Kannon Clauer, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and sister in law, Montine Tarkington, and care giver, Linda Springer.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier (501-679-2575), with Bro. Mark Welter and Bro. Carl Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Thorn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Iberg, Roger Iberg, Brant Jennings, Jeff Davis, Zack Jennings, and James Clauer. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Woodrome, Bro. Carl Tate, and Clara's grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
