*Obituary

Peggy Ann King, age 68, of Greenbrier, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, with her loving family by her side. Peggy was born in Greenfield, Tenn., on Oct. 21, 1943, to Macon M. and Annie Mae (Jenkins) Dinwiddie. She married her precious husband of 49 years, Bro. Gaylon King, on Sept. 1, 1962, and together they have one son, Eric Jackson King, age 41, of Conway. Peggy was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenbrier, where her husband served as minister for 31 years before retiring in April. To say she was an outstanding example of a minister's wife would be an understatement. Peggy loved her Lord, she loved her family and she loved her church family. Her love and devotion, shown through her sweet spirit, caring heart and beautiful smile touched an infinite number of individuals throughout her life. When she wasn't busy happily attending or planning church activities, her greatest joys came from spending time with her family, especially her two beautiful granddaughters, and from shopping for bargains with her special friends.Peggy is survived by her husband, Bro. Gaylon King; her son, Eric and his wife, Sarah; her granddaughters, Kallee Taylor King and Chloe Ann King; her sisters and their spouses, Ilie Sue and Richard Dawson of Lansing, Mich., and Addie Lou and Russell Dawson of Greenfield, Tenn.; her brother-in-law and his spouse, Kenneth and Jay King; her sisters-in-law and their spouses, Mavis and Ron Smith, Tasha and Dennis Fitzgerald, and Cherrie and Gary Dawson; several nieces and nephews and their family members; and a host of special and dear friends. Peggy is preceded in death by her father; and her mother. There will be a time of visitation and remembrance for Peggy from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenbrier. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Immanuel Baptist Church, followed by interment at Thorn Cemetery in Greenbrier. The services will be officiated by Bro. Joe Dickey, Bro. Ed Stephenson, Bro. Jurl Mitchell, Bro. John Burleson, and Bro. Johnnie Hoffmann. Pallbearers are Roy Montgomery, Greg Montgomery, Travis Weaver, Lance Reynolds, Rusty Mahan, Jerold Brock, Wayne Coats and Kirby Coats. Honorary pallbearers are her loving church family and her wonderful friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church children's ministries and the Arkansas Arthritis Foundation. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff of Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, especially the ICU South and 7th floor workers, for the care given to Mrs. Peggy and the compassion and care shown to the family and friends over the past few weeks. Arrangements are being handled by Bishop-Griffin Funeral home in Greenbrier, 501-679-4400.
