SAGE — Amos Daniel Chrisco Jr., 85, of Sage died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, in a Batesville hospital.
Born Aug. 22, 1928, in Sage, he was the son of Amos Daniel and Myrtle Reeves Chrisco. A graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, he competed on the high school basketball and baseball teams. He was a starting member of the 1952 state baseball champion Melbourne Comets and played professionally in the New York Yankees farm system. He was a machinist and maintenance supervisor.
He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing and worked with many charities. He attended and actively supported Sage Baptist Church. He and his wife provided a home for more than a dozen foster children.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Chrisco; a son, Rustin Chrisco of Bentonville; two daughters, Marissa Chrisco of Independence, Mo., and Jeannie Chrisco Singleton of Paragould; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death his parents.
