Burns Fatal To C. M. Hines Of Harmon

An elderly Harmon community farmer died in Springdale Memorial Hospital yesterday after suffering second and third degree burns over 95 per cent or his body.

Hospital authorities identified the victim as Charley Monroe Hines, 66.

Hines had been burning brush near his home, using kerosene to start the fires.

He was apparently able to extinguish the blaze after his clothing caught fire. He then walked back to his home. A Callison - Sisco ambulance brought him to the hospital.

He was born May 17, 1898 at Calvin, Okla., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Hines and was a farmer and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include the widow, Morine of the home; three sons, Richard and Stephen both of the home and Gerald of the U. S. Army in Viet Nam; one daughter, Gerea Branch of the home; one sister, Mrs. Jimmy McCulley of Jenks, Okla.; three brothers, Osa of Ramona, Okla., Herschel of California and Edgar of Iowa and two grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the While Oak Community Church; burial in White Oak Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
