It was late Saturday night when Tony and Tina Petty and her brother, Tim Moses, decided to go fishing at Lake Cargile. Earlier in the day, the three attended a nephew's wedding and reception.

Around 2:30 Sunday morning, the sheriff's department received a call reporting a capsized boat. When they arrived, they found the body of Tina Petty floating near the shore.

The three were in a small fishing boat only about 10 yards off the shore on the deep side of the lake. The sheriff says it appears Tina Petty was adjusting or baiting a trotline and became caught up in it. The men tried to help her and the boat capsized. Her husband and older brother drowned trying to free her from that trotline. The three were not wearing life jackets.
