DeWitt - Robert Jackson Paxton, age 92, of DeWitt died Monday, December 2, 2013. He was born August 15, 1921 in New Boston, Illinois to Andrew and Harriet Whiticker Paxton. He was a timber cutter, then worked for and retired from Arkansas County, served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, was a member of the American Legion and Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Eason Paxton, step-sons: Lloyd Snyder of DeWitt, Eddie Snyder of Bourg, LA, Danny Snyder of St. Charles, Tony Snyder of DeWitt and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, five sisters and a step-son, Wayne Snyder.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM Thursday, December 5th at Eastside Baptist Church with funeral services following at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at DeWitt Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church or charity of choice.
