Amos V. Juhl, 76, of Atkins died Saturday, Aug. 27, at his home.

He was a retired mail carrier, son of the late Chris and Cally Juhl, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, J.L. Juhl.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mildred Juhl; a daughter, Bonnie Kendrick of Alexander; three brothers, George and Alfred Juhl of Missouri, and Robert Juhl of Arizona; a sister, Julia Wiederholt of Missouri; two grandchildren, Jonathan Juhl of Fordyce and Tammy Murry of Thornton, and a great-grandchild.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lemley Chapel by the Rev. Charles Kendrick and the Rev. Ray Smith. Burial will be in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers include Don, Wayne and Paul Kendrick, Larry Jonsgard, J.E. Merryman and Freddie Bowden.

Mildred Juhl, 78, of Atkins died Thursday, July 31, at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home in Russellville.

She was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Hillsboro, Texas, to the late J. Lee and Mamie Locklin Self. She was a homemaker and is preceded in death by her husband, Amos Juhl, and her son, J.L. Juhl.

Survivors include a sister, Judy White of Palestine, Texas; a grandson, Johnathon Juhl of Fordyce; a granddaughter, Tammy Murry of Thornton; and a number of great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Lemley Chapel. The Rev. Ray Smith and the Rev. Charles Kendrick will officiate. Burial will be at Atkins City Cemetery.
