Obituary
Jerry Wayne Rudder, 65, of Hector, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The youngest of 7 children of William and Cora Philpot Rudder, he was born September 18, 1945 in Hector. Jerry worked at Morton's Frozen Foods as a supervisor in the 1970's and later worked as a heavy equipment operator with local construction companies including Keener Construction. He enjoyed deer hunting and playing the rhythm guitar. He started a country band, "Jerry Rudder and the Boys" that played country and gospel. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; an infant brother, Thomas Rudder; sister, Hazel Williamson; brother, Harley Bill Rudder.
He is survived by 2 sons, Jerry Keith Rudder and his life-partner Glenda McConnell of Hector, Kevin Wayne Rudder of Dardanelle; a daughter, Susan Coffman and husband, Rev. Michael Coffman of Springdale; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Danny Rudder of Russellville; 3 sisters, Lois Blalack, Bobbie Rudder and Shirley Rudder all of Hector.
Funeral will be at 10:00AM, Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Humphrey Chapel. Rev. Sam Niemann and Rev. Michael Coffman will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Jerusalem by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Monday, at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Paul Blalock, Danny Rudder, Bill Waldo, Rick Price, Dennis Burris, Doug Ford, Roy Singleton. Honorary pallbearers are David Keener and employees of Keener Construction.
