Mansfield
June 29, 1909-Oct 30, 1986
He was the son of Charles K Eakes and Sarah Elzora Daily Eakes. He lived adjacent to Atkins football practice field. Loved to watch them practice from his lawn chair under his pecan tree. He never missed a practice. The Atkins football team wearing their red jersies were honorary pallbearers. Sheriff Bill Abernathy took him to a razorback game at war memorial and got him a sideline pass one time and he said his arm wore out from waving at all the people. He loved football, baseball and softball. He was a battler to the end. He had cancer and believed he would win even when he went into a coma. He loved people and sports.
