Obituary
Charles Riley, 80, a resident of Appleton, died Monday, August 13, 2007, at his home.

He was born July 20, 1927, at Malvern to Albert E. and Mattie Gracie Thompson Riley. He was employed by the Arkansas Highway Department for 14 years and was a member of the Jerusalem Church of Christ. When he was younger, he enjoyed riding and breaking horses. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Junior and Earl Gene Riley; and a sister, Betty Lou Benton.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mildred Riley of Appleton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty Kubicek of Russellville, Donna and Jerry W. Ford of Russellville, and Peggy and Jim Dumont of Jacksonville; two brothers, Theron Wayne Riley of Hector and Jackie Riley; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2007, at the Jerusalem Church of Christ with Mr. Scott Rodrick officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery at Jerusalem under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Thomas, Jake Tyler, Rex Tyler, Jerry Ford, Boyce Johnson, and John Scroggins Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Lovejoy, Jerry Branch, Mike Killings, and Jason Smith.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Jerusalem Church of Christ; Post Office Box 41; Jerusalem, Arkansas 72080.
