Robert L. Barber, 80, of Atkins, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at home.
Born May 13, 1928, in Muldrow, Oklahoma , he was the son of the late George Washington and Mary Jane Patillo Barber. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hertha Barber. He was a member of the Atkins First Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Glenda Barber of Cedar Hill, TX, Bobby Lee Barber of Atkins, George and Jenavee Barber of Dardanelle, grandson, Adam Barber and wife Melanie, step granddaughter, Jennifer Lee and 2 step great grandchildren, Joseph Brandon Lee and Kelsee Addison Lee, 1 brother, Joe and 4 sisters, Ellen, Margaret, Shirley and Betty.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Atkins First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Tyler officiating. Burial will be in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.
Visitation will be 6:00-7:30 PM Friday.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Martin, Ethan Robinson, Bill Haralson, Keith Shipley, David Haralson and David McVey.
