Floy Mae Henderson Griffin, 88, of Atkins died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at her home. She was born May 12, 1918, in Appleton to the late Jessie Everett and Mamie Dean Fisher Henderson. She was a lifelong member of the Atkins First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Wesleyan Service Guild and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, long-time Atkins businessman and civic leader, David B. Griffin, who she married on Jan. 25, 1936; by a sister, Mamie Rhea Henderson; a brother, Ira Everett Henderson; and a son-in-law, Homer H. Hudnall. Survivors include a daughter, Dianne Hudnall of Memphis, Tenn.; a son and daughter-in-law, David H. and Carol Griffin of Conway; three grandsons, Homer Howard Hudnall and wife, Alisha, of New London, Iowa, Bryan Griffin Foster of Des Moines, Iowa, Aaron S. Griffin of Camden; and one great-grandson, David Hudnall of New London, Iowa. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a special nephew, John C. Stroud of Atkins, who was her friend and assistant during the past eight years and her caregiver during the past three months. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Atkins First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Stroud and the Rev. Donald Lewert officiating. Burial will be in the Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be David Stroud, David Henderson, Wayne Mannis, Phillip Rutherford, Bryan Foster and Aaron Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Hudnall, Jimmy Griffin and George Bailey.
