Robert "Larry" George, age 67, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at home surrounded by his family that loved him dearly. Larry was born July 18, 1942, to Arnold and Dorothy George. He graduated from Central High School in 1959. Shortly after, he joined the Navy and was stationed in California. Larry then returned home to Little Rock and became a successful entrepreneur. He was a member of Martindale Baptist Church and a devoted Christian man whom taught a Men's Sunday School Class. Larry loved his Lord, loved his family and loved his Razorbacks. He was affectionately known as "Pop" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Larry was a loving father, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Dorothy George; sister, Doris George and two brothers, Harold and Arnold George, Jr.
Larry is survived by his twin brother, Harry George (Janet); two sons, Robert George, Jr. (Gwen) and Steven George; two daughters, Debbie Crone (Phillip) and Heather George (Daddy's Dolly); five grandchildren, Bobby George (Ashley), Jamie George, Kellye Roberts (Josh), Carolyn Highfill (Matt) and Jeff Crone (Charlotte); seven great-grandchildren and numerous other family members.
Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 11 at Martindale Baptist Church with burial at Ida Mission Cemetery. Jay Weaver officiated.
