LOWELL — Elmer Franklin Salsman, 89, of Lowell died Dec. 18, 2013, in Lowell. He was born Nov. 7, 1924, to Franklin Elmer and Maggie Annis Marlin Salsman.

He retired from Schmeding accounting department. He was a member of the Odd Fellow and a life member of the NRA. He was a registered genealogist in Washington, D.C. Elmer enjoyed helping people.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Salsman; one brother, Paul Salsman; two sisters, Mildred Salsman and Mable Davison.

He is survived by son, Roger Bruce Salsman of Lowell; two daughters, Susan Elmore and husband, Tommy, of Lowell, and Charlene Salsman and Aaron Whittle of Salem, Ore.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.

LOWELL — E. Joan Salsman, 64, of Lowell died Dec. 6, 1999, at her home. She was born Dec. 18, 1934. in Blue Eye, Mo., to Mason A. and Gertie Graham Holland. She moved to the area in 1954 from Springfield, Mo., and was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, was a volunteer musician for senior centers and day-care facilities and enjoyed bowling.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer Salsman of the home, to whom she was married Feb. 12, 1953; one son, Roger Salsman of Lowell; two daughters, Susan Elmore and Charlene Salsman, both of Lowell; two sisters, Mary Swafford of Berryville and Guinevere Logan of Green Forest; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sisco Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Jim Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
