SPRINGDALE — William Arthur Cress, age 66, of Springdale, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at the Earlene Howard Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. He was born Jan. 30, 1947, in Wenatchee, Wash., the son of William Ray and Virginia Miller Cress.
He was a professor and had taught in many different places including Old Mexico and South Africa. He enjoyed hiking, growing flowers and researching on the computer.
He was preceded by his father and one sister.
Mr. Cress is survived by his mother, Virginia Cress of Springdale; one brother, Edgar Dale Cress of West Fort; and one sister, Frances Houston of Springdale.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Silent Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Audie Long officiating, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. There will not be any visitation.
