SPRINGDALE — Virginia Lee Cress, age 90, of Springdale, Ark., passed away in her sleep Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, with her dog, Blue, by her side. She was born March 8, 1923, the daughter of Arthur Albert and Frances Pearl Eden Miller.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, William Ray Cress; a daughter, Nancy Hare; a son, Dr. William A. Cress; and two sisters.

She was a member of First Assembly of God in West Fork.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances Houston and husband, Marvin, of Springdale, Ark.; her son, Dale Cress and his wife, Gretchen, of West Fork, Ark.; five grandchildren, Tony Cress, Kelli Murray, Randy Houston, Danelle Murphy and Loretta Spencer; eight great-grandchildren, Makena Cress, Tyler Murphy, Sheridan, Arron and Alec Spencer, Aubrey, Cody and Madi Murray; and her dog, Blue.

Visitation will be today, Dec. 11, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Ark.

Graveside service will be Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Silent Grove Cemetery in Springdale, Ark.
