Lesola Baker, 94, of Atkins, died Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Atkins Care Center. She was born September 23, 1917, in Bells Chapel the daughter of Omer and Winnie Whiteside Austin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atkins for over 50 years and never knew a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester Lee Baker; son, Danny Ray Baker; three brothers, E.M. Austin, Leon Austin and O.C. Austin; and a sister, Mary Evelyn Meldrum.
She is survived by 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Jean Fletcher of North Little Rock, Deanna Grims (Dennis) of Sherwood, Linda Kay Griffin (Larry) of Russellville and Martha Reddell (David) of Russellville; 7 grandchildren, Lewis Lee Fletcher, Lisa Pruitt, Tracy Ingle, Dennis Ray Grimes, Ben Griffin, Brian Reddell and Kevin Reddell; 12 great-grandchildren, Micah, Renae, Cole, Kryslyne, Kansas, Shelby Ann, Andrew, Devin, Dylan, Abbie, Colton and Brock; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Tristin, Justin and Tyler; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18 at the First Baptist Church of Atkins officiated by Rev. Roy Chisum and Rev. Ira Taylor. Burial is in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers are Lewis Lee Fletcher, Dennis Ray Grimes, Bobby Austin, Jerry Austin, Cole Pruitt and Ben Griffin. Honorary pallbearers are the Ruth Class at Atkins FBC. (from Lemley Funeral Home online obituary)
