Ruth Evaline Maxwell was born in Jasper Co. Indiana, the youngest of 6 children. Her parents were John Chester and Mahala Evaline Lutz Maxwell. She married Argus Myron Rotruck and they had two children. Martha Beth Rotruck McCormack born September 5, 1944 and Myron Houston Rotruck borned July 8, 1946. She was a school teacher. She loved music and could play several instruments, piano, organ, accordian. After suffering a stroke that left her left side paralyzed, she could still make more music with one hand than most people with two. She died in Perryville, Arkansas where she had made her home for forty years.

Born to Marion H. Rotruck and Sadie St.Clair Raines Rotruck in White Co. Indiana. His first wife died at an early age from brain cancer. A daughter Sullivan Rotruck Onken, nicknamed "Tootie" was born Aug. 6, 1914. Argus married Ruth Evaline Maxwell from Rennesslaer, Indiana. They had two children, Martha Beth Rotruck McCormack born September 5, 1944 and Myron Houston Rotruck borned July 8, 1946. Argus lived in several states, was a finish carpenter and owned a gas station, but his real love was fishing, traveling, hunting and trapping.
He spent the last several years of his life in central Arkansas. He died at home from a heart condition after an extended illness.
