Mrs. W. G. Tyson, Sr., well known South Arkansas pioneer resident, died Thursday at 12:45 p.m. in a Magnolia hospital. She was a resident of Stephens for many years. She was born on Feb. 24, 1873. She is survived by six children, Jessie May Tyson, Mrs. Winston Walker, and Mrs. W. D. McKay of Magnolia, Mrs. Mark Pierce of Camden, Mrs. Sam Curry of Stephens, and Glen Tyson of Crane, Texas; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the First Methoist Church in Stephens. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family requests memorials be sent to the Methodist Church in Stephens in lieu of flowers. (Camden News- January 21, 1966)
