J R Boren, 84, of Atkins, went to live in his heavenly home Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the Atkins Nursing and Care Center. He was born August 18, 1930, in Ozark, son of the late James Richard and Annie Bonds Boren. He was a corporal in the US Army Company D 17th Tank Battalion and served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from B & B Trucking and was a school bus driver for the Atkins School District. He attended Atkins Free Holiness Pentecostal Church and was a faithful servant of the Lord. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School and playing guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Frank Boren; brothers, Jay, Arlis, Donald and Robert Boren; & sisters, Anna Hodges and Cassie Coffman.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lmurl Boren; daughter, Connie and husband Charlie Sorrels; grandchildren, Brant, James, Jill and Katie; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Rhett, Brenner, Colter, Konnor, J C, Makali and Addison; brothers, Marvin Boren, Johnny Boren and Fred Boren; daughter-in-law, Brenda Boren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Matt Jones, Michael Flory, Ricky Jay Alexander, James Boren, Brant Boren, and David Lee Tackett.
