Albert W. (Bud) Payne, age 50, died early Wednesday morning at Kennedy Veterans Hospital in Memphis. He had been a patient at Kennedy VA Hospital since a farm accident in Sept.1956, which left him paralized and confined to his bed. He was born Oct.15,1921, in Forrest City, the son of Mrs.Winnie Stevens Payne and Richard H.Payne. He had lived in Harrisburg and Jonesboro, and returned to Forrest City. He was a farmer, a Methodist, and a veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs.H.N.Gage of Port Gibson, Miss.; and Mrs.Eric Rogers Jr. of Jonesboro. Funeral services will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Thursday with Rev.Bob Smith in charge of services. Burial will follow in Forrest City cemetery.
