"Rites Held For Leslie Allen, 81, Tuesday Afternoon
William Leslie Allen, 81, who resided at 402 Cross Street, died suddenly early Sunday morning at Forrest Memorial Hospital. He had been in poor health for several years, and had been in the hospital for three weeks.
Mr. Allen was an auto mechanic, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Forrest City.
Born on April 4, 1889, in St. Francis county, Mr. Allen was the son of Mrs. Gladys Swanson Allen and W.A. Allen. He had spent his entire life in and around Forrest City.
His wife, the former Miss Annie Hamilton, died in 1969.
Mr. allen leaves one son, Orman Allen of California; one niece, Mrs. Delam Kendell of Tennessee, and two grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Allen were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Homes with the Rev. Lexter Beaman in charge of services. Burial followed in City
